Ways with Washi

I have a huge pile of washi tape rolls, well actually a large shoebox, and I’m always looking for different ways to use up my stash.  Have you see the great collection of washi tape that we have instore? You can find them here.

Washi tape originated in Japan and is decorative masking tape, the original designs were based upon traditional washi paper. Washi tape is easy to use as the adhesive isn’t permanent and can quickly add a touch of colour and pattern to any project.  I’d like to show you one way you can combine washi tape with dies or punches to create cards with a lovely pop of colour.

Attach strips of washi to a scrap of cardstock.  You can change the look of your punchies by using coloured cardstock.

Punch out a bunch of circles of different sizes. Dies and punches of different shapes and sizes will give a different look.

Arrange your circles in a random manner along one edge of your card front. I used some paper from the January 2014 Full Tart kit for the initial layer.

Add a greeting and your colourful washi card is complete.
